Ball type slide design features general use press
Designed and built specifically for general purpose and utility work, a straight-sided power press uses a ball type slide design to resist twice the load of a conventional wrist pin.
Aida, the leader in creating and developing new metal forming system manufacturing solutions for its customers, has implemented key features from its top of the line stamping equipment into its new tie-rod straightside NST Series press.
Designed and built specifically for general purpose and utility work, Aida's NST offers customers advanced technology at a cost effective pricepoint.
The NST, constructed with a rigid, tie-rod frame for reduced deflection under load, features the same ball and socket connection arrangement found in Aida's PMX press series.
The ball type slide design uses a spherical ball seat with a load carrying area more than twice that of a conventional wrist pin configuration.
In addition to providing significantly higher reverse load capacity, the ball design's larger load carrying area dramatically reduces wear and maintenance on the suspension point components in compression, tension and off-center loading conditions.
A second design feature typically found on more expensive presses is the NST's pre-loaded roller slide guiding which delivers improved die life and part quality and creates a lube-free die space ideal for coated materials.
A high energy drive is included for work being done higher in the press stroke.
Carbon fiber counter-balance cylinders deliver a quieter performance and reduce maintenance costs.
The NST comes equipped with a PLC-based control and AIDA1s unique Hydraulic Overload Protection (HOLP) system.
The NST's eccentric gear design makes it ideal for the high performance production requirements of the appliance, HVAC equipment, furniture, hardware, farm and garden machinery industries.
The NST is available in a 3000kN to 10MN rating.
Aida is a leading pioneer in the metalforming industry with over 85 years of innovation.
Devoting five percent or more of its consolidated sales to research and development, Aida continues to take strides that set it apart from other press builders.
New examples include the NST and NSU - straightside presses specifically designed to meet the needs of utility and general purpose work at price-points that are cost effective.
In addition to continually introducing new press technology, Aida maintains a strong global presence with a local customer service approach that is supported by one of the metalforming industry1s largest networks of manufacturing and sales organizations in the world.
Aida offers a full range of presses from 300kN to 40MN including gap, straight side, progressive die, high-speed, transfer and cold forming presses as well as press automation and total turnkey packages.
Aida worldwide boasts 120,000m2 of manufacturing space including facilities in the United Kingdom, United States, Malaysia and Japan.
With more than 1300- employees and a press manufacturing capacity exceeding 2000 presses per year, Aida is, in units produced, one of the largest press manufacturers in the world.
