The factory site of Aida UK is to be restructured as a sales, engineering, service and spare parts facility. The manufacturing portion of Aida UK's activity is expected to close this summer.

For over 85 years Aida has been developing and producing advanced metalforming solutions to help manufacturers achieve higher production rates, better component quality, longer die life and increased profit Devoting five percent of its consolidated sales to ongoing research and development, Aida remains committed to continuing to provide customers with the flexible tools they need to meet the demands of today's competitive marketplace

In support of that commitment and in response to the changing economic climate in the United Kingdom, AIDA announced today that it has initiated plans to streamline Aida Engineering UK.

As part of Aida's ongoing global strategy, Aida UK will be restructured as a sales, engineering, service and spare parts facility.

The manufacturing portion of Aida UK's activity is expected to close sometime this summer.

"The restructuring of Aida UK is a strategic economic decision based on the United Kingdom's declining manufacturing market, expensive currency and the ongoing migration of Aida customers to Central Europe and Asia," said Troy Roberts, Managing Director for Aida UK.

"Our plans to retain sales, engineering, service and spare parts as well as continuing to provide press products from other Aida manufacturing facilities will ensure that our UK customers receive the same high level of service and quality that we've always delivered.

In addition to serving the UK, Aida is positioning itself to meet the needs of a growing customer base in Continental Europe." Aida began penetrating the European market last year by establishing a French subsidiary of Aida Engineering.

(Japan), Aida SAS, a sales and service office in Paris, France.

The office is expected to double in size this year with the addition of engineers and service technicians.

Most recently Aida secured an order for a 30MN transfer press for a Germany-based tier one supplier.

The press is being manufactured in Japan at Aida's facilities.

Aida is continuing to develop supplier relationships in Central and Eastern Europe and is exploring options to establish a new manufacturing facility in Continental Europe.

Today Aida is one of the largest press manufacturers in the world, exporting presses to more than 50 countries around the globe.

Aida has built a global operations system that focuses on world markets to foster greater efficiency in all operational activities - from development to manufacturing, sales and service.

Aida is currently expanding spare parts centers for long lead-time parts at its three primary locations worldwide.

Aida offers a full range of presses from 300kN to 40MN including gap, straightside, progressive die, high-speed up to 3000 strokes per minute, transfer and cold forming presses as well as press automation and total turnkey packages.
