Gage-Chek digital readout is fast,
accurate
The Metronics Gage-Chek digital readout accommodates up to eight encoder inputs, it combines familiar DRO functionality with colour graphics to provide fast and accurate measurement feedback.
Heading the display being mounted by Quadra-Chek Systems at MACH 2004 will be the Metronics Gage-Chek digital readout (DRO) for the gauge and inspection market, and available from ACI (Europe) Accommodating up to eight encoder inputs, this versatile display combines familiar DRO functionality with colour graphics to provide fast and accurate measurement feedback

CMMs face low-cost inspection equipment challenge
In the quest for cost-effective and efficient component measuring, the CMM is being challenged because simple 'go/no-go' tolerance checks are still perfectly adequate for many components.
DROs improve rotary table efficiency
The use of digital readout systems is playing a key role in enabling a tooling manufacturer to maintain its worldwide reputation for the supply of high precision rotary tables.
Manual turret miller has powerful CNC too
Low-cost, high specification turret mills, offering manual and CNC operation, make use of, it is claimed, one of the most user-friendly CNC systems available - with powerful functionality.
Encoders can be algebraically combined for dimensions such as thickness, flatness and volume, and results can be displayed numerically, graphically or archived for process studies such as statistical process control (ie, X-Bar and Range charts).
The Gage-Chek's DRO mode provides icons indicating process study has been performed, complete with in/out-of-tolerance alert.
It also contains many other features such as unit switches including settings of inch/metric, absolute/incremental, decimal degrees/degrees, as well as minutes and seconds.
Gage-Chek extends the unrivalled reputation of Quadra-Chek systems for measuring and inspecting 2- and 3-D components, and the range includes the QC series for optical comparators, microscopes and co-ordinate measuring machines, as well as the Tool-Chek for tool measurement applications.
The Quadra-Chek 200 DRO can be used in applications where measurements are being taken on up to four axes of a component, and system resolution is down to 0.0001 mm.
Importantly, the system incorporates the Measure Magic (Registered) functionality where users simply probe points and, in conjunction with a footswitch/remote keypad control, the system automatically detects the feature type being measured.
This enables operators to measure multiple features without taking their eyes off the part - which speeds throughput, improves accuracy and reduces user fatigue.
Intuitive tools simplify program creation for repetitive tasks, and parallel and serial ports provide integrated data transfer to PCs, networks and printers, for example.
Quadra-Chek Systems also develops Windows-based metrology software for two- and three-dimensional parts, by use of optical video and touch probe input.
