Visteon Corporation, an $18 billion manufacturer, will now be expanding its VisualPlantTM installations to a total of 23 plants in North America and Europe.
The Manufacturing Intelligence TM software is already installed or currently under installation in seven of the company's plants to provide plant management with a decision support tool and to increase operational visibility.
Specifically, VisualPlant is being used in production applications for product tracking and machine and production monitoring.
"This is exciting news, and we're obviously delighted that Visteon selected VisualPlant as its global corporate solution," says ATS Group Managing Director Michael James.
"Visteon is quickly becoming known for its innovative approach to solving plant floor business issues and its global deployment of VisualPlant throughout North America, Europe, South America and Asia Pacific is further evidence of this.
We're very pleased to be partnering with a leading manufacturer like Visteon".
The first application, which includes tracking and traceability, is being implemented for airbag manufacturing in the Berlin Plant.
VisualPlant is the world's leading off-the-shelf manufacturing software that analyses the activity of every machine in the plant and feeds this information live to employees' desktops.
What happened last month on a plant floor could be compared to what is happening right now, to improve total plant efficiency and build a better link to the supply chain.
It is a live, direct and secure connection to the machines on the plant floor with a simple interface that can be configured by any user to monitor and analyse any key performance indicators from the plant floor.
Visteon's customers include some of the 19 largest vehicle manufacturers in the world including DaimlerChrysler, Ford, General Motors, Nissan, Toyota and Volkswagen.
The company manufactures hundreds of vehicle components for chassis, power train, electronics, climate, interior and exterior systems, which may comprise as much as 40 percent of a vehicle.
