Access control and data recorder easy to install
An easy to use, low-cost access control and data recording unit is designed for use on plant, machinery and vehicles, such as fork lift trucks, or production machines.
It had also been experiencing a number of thefts where its own forklifts had been used to move the stolen materials and required additional security and immobilisation on their fleet.
After assessing Timet Birmingham's requirements, its forklift truck supplier recommended the Didbox system (distributed in the UK by Actiserve) on the basis that it was cost-effective, easy to install and would provide instant data retrieval of driver usage against date and time as well as providing an additional level of security against unauthorised use of the vehicles.
Timet has reported that its drivers have not had any difficulty adjusting to using the system and that in the event of truck damage or other incidents, the data downloading facility has given valuable insight and aided their investigations.
Mike Newbould, Production Strategy Manager for Timet in Birmingham, said: "Timet has a large number of drivers in three plants.
The Didbox system has allowed us to restrict where the drivers operate and has proved to be a robust and reliable solution to our problems.".
