AEW Delford has launched the WPL 8500 Weigh Price Labeller for heavy products such as bulk or catering packs with a weight of up to 27.5 kilos.

AEW Delford, a Marel Food Systems company, has expanded its range of weighing and labelling systems with the WPL8500 Heavy Product Weigh Price Labeller Based on AEW Delford weigh price labelling technology, the WPL8500 has been specifically designed to weigh and label items, such as bulk or catering packs of up to 600mm long and 600mm wide with a weight of up to 27.5 kilos

It can also be used to apply warehouse tracking labels to boxes and crates, or customer point of sale information to outer packaging.

Operating at speeds of up to 35 items per minute, the WPL8500 can be supplied with or without infeed and outfeed conveyors.

It can be washed down from conveyors downward and all conveyors are easily removable for cleaning.

With a high definition thermal printing head, the WPL8500 can be used to print a variety of information including: Package Weight and Price; Unit Price (price per kg, g or lbs); Date - in up to 4 formats referenced to the system's onboard 'clock', including offset 'use by' or 'best before' dates; Barcodes (EAN13, EAN8 and EAN128); and up to twelve Text Lines that can be edited with PC-based software.

Labels can be automatically applied to the product with the ability of front and side application for crates and boxes.

The machine has the facility to print graphics on the label, including monochrome bitmaps, lines and boxes.

Other non-printing variables can be programmed into the system including: Low and High Weight Limits; Package Tare; Label Position; Maximum Pack Length; Price and Weight Units.

Like the rest of the AEW Delford weigh price labelling range, the WPL8500 features the latest software for ease of operation and programming and can be networked with other equipment in the processing line.
