Part of ABB's OperateIT family of human/system interface products, SCADA Portal can be linked with other control equipment quickly and simply.
The system can work with a variety of communication protocols, such as OPC, Modbus and Profibus and others, and with both local and distributed devices.
Data from objects within the system is used to form 'Information Aspects,' such as process graphics, the SCADA database and the maintenance system.
Users can move between these Information Aspects with one mouse click, making plant-wide databases and key operations available immediately.
Designed for needs ranging from small, standalone applications, through widely distributed processes, to advanced process automation applications, SCADA Portal can handle five clients and up to 10,000 I/O per server.
Using advanced process graphics, SCADA Portal displays trends with multiple signals and generates reports using familiar, industry-standard reporting packages.
It also includes a live video display.
SCADA Portal builds applications using object-oriented principles, enhancing the quality of the application software and reducing the cost of programming and maintaining the application.
The system includes an object-oriented SCADA server with real-time data logging, alarm detection, on-line data processing and other SCADA functions.
SCADA Portal is part of ABB's comprehensive family of IndustrialIT products, used to form control solutions for small to large process automation applications and covering functions from instrumentation, motors and I/O, up to enterprise-wide management systems.
