Inspection and rejection systems check
labelling
A comprehensive range of inspection and rejection systems, for use with all ALS labelling machines, verify that labels have been correctly applied, resulting in significantly improved accuracy.
Advanced Labelling Systems (ALS), Europe's leading manufacturer of labelling systems, has launched a comprehensive range of inspection and rejection systems for use in conjunction with all ALS labelling technology The inspection and rejection systems are designed to verify that labels have been correctly applied, resulting in significantly improved accuracy and productivity through the elimination of costly mis-labelling caused by human error

Advanced Labelling Systems (ALS) has launched a new heavy-duty, automatic print and apply labelling solution, the ALX 2038.
Labelling system prints at 300mm/sec
In response to customer demand for increasingly faster 1:1 print and apply labelling, Advanced Labelling Systems (ALS) has launched the ALX 924, with a print speed of up to 300mm/second.
This proven system can be used for monitoring the labelling of complex product ranges that require multiple customisation within the brand, such as cosmetics, toiletries, foodstuffs and pharmaceutical items where inspection becomes critically important and often a requirement to meet with industry regulations.
The innovative ALS inspection and rejection systems are capable of monitoring marks, colours, barcodes and 2D matrix codes and, if fitted with the latest vision systems, can be used for highly sophisticated inspection routines.
For example, where the text of each label (or tube if used in conjunction with the ALS Tube Labeller) is checked to ensure each one reads exactly the same.
If, during the evaluation process, a labelled product does not meet specific criteria, then the item is rejected.
The new ALS inspection and rejection systems can distinguish a UV ink mark that is undetectable to the naked eye and also recognise registration points from characteristics of a tube, such as an indent in the opening lid of a tube or the weld seam on a metal tube, whereas conventional inspection and rejection systems are only able to detect a printed mark.
Phil Donaldson, Sales and Marketing Director explains, "Our new range of inspection and rejection systems will further enhance all print and apply processes, by providing a dedicated quality control system that automatically monitors and rejects, as necessary.
This is particularly critical in pharmaceutical and food packaging where the label often includes vital usage instructions.
