News Release from: Advanced Labelling Systems (ALS) | Subject: KHS Anker "Roland" labelling machines
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk Editorial Team on 28 January 2004

Rotary labellers are exceptionally
heavy-duty

Unlike other leading rotary labelling machines, these models are exceptionally heavy-duty, vibration-free and constructed almost entirely of stainless steel.

When considering the purchase of new labelling equipment three things are of utmost importance, high labelling quality, complete flexibility and maximum after sales service These three criteria have always been met by Advanced Labelling Systems (ALS)

ALS is now proud to have been appointed exclusive agents of the KHS Anker range of "Roland" labelling machines in the UK and Ireland.

This adds to their already extensive list of high quality labelling systems but will now enable ALS to compete at the very highest level of rotary labelling requirements.

Unlike other leading rotary labeller manufacturers, KHS Anker machines made in Hamburg, Germany are exceptionally heavy-duty, vibration-free and constructed almost entirely of stainless steel with no exposed fixings on the base for easy cleaning and giving exceptional protection against corrosion and therefore a much longer life.

Three types of label application are available, hot-melt, pressure-sensitive (self-adhesive) and wet-glue or a combination, with up to eight labelling heads.

This obviously gives complete flexibility and versatility in today's demanding market place, where labelling trends can change in an instant.

KHS Anker rotary labellers are installed all over the world and can cope with many different label dressings on many different shaped bottles, all on one machine.

Models are available to suit most requirements and budgets, from the entry-level 4 or 8 turret systems, capable of labelling up to 9,000 products an hour, mid-range 10, 16 or 20 turret systems capable of labelling up to 30,000 products an hour, to the performance range with 24 or 32 product turrets for throughputs in excess of 45,000 per hour.

Product change-over is tool-free and therefore quick and simple.

Unique features such as automatic carousel height adjustment set these machines apart; this is where a sample bottle is placed on a separately installed bottle turret and a limit switch installed on the upper part of the rotating carousel is lowered until it comes into contact with the bottle top.

The labeller is then completely and automatically adjusted for the height of the next product to be labelled.

Innovations like this and other significant features such as the optional "vario-drive" controlled platforms, for simple product change-over without changing cams and automatic label web splicing, for continuous running, ensure minimum production down-time, which is an essential factor in manufacturing processes today.

All KHS Anker labellers supplied and installed by ALS will be supported by their own national team of fully trained service engineers across the UK and Ireland, together with their fully comprehensive two year on-site, parts and labour warranty as standard, as with all labelling machinery provided by ALS.

Phil Donaldson, Sales and Marketing Director for the ALS Group of companies, says "This is a very exciting opportunity for ALS to use our experience and knowledge of rotary labelling to the full and provide our customers with an outstanding and internationally recognised product, together with our exceptional service." He adds, "The fact that KHS Anker came to ALS to further promote their machines in the UK and Irish market places shows their level of confidence in our ability and we are proud to be their first and only agents".
