Multiple temperature sensor calibration can be achieved for a wide variety of sensor types using a series of versatile temperature calibrators and advanced signal multiscanner.

Multiple temperature sensor calibration can be achieved for a wide variety of sensor types using the Jofra ATC series of temperature calibrators and ASM advanced signal multiscanner from Ametek Calibration Instruments In particular

the ATC140A/B and ATC250A/B temperature calibrators offer exceptional versatility as they can be configured as either liquid baths or dry-block calibrators, for use with gas or liquid filled probes, glass thermometers and multiple probes.

The PC-controlled JOFRA ASM800 Advanced Signal Multi-scanner allows the simultaneous calibration of up to 8 temperature sensors.

Integral JOFRACAL PC software controls the complete calibration procedure, stores the results and can produce hard-copy certificates to provide a calibration audit trail.

All calibration and historical data are stored for each sensor to monitor drift and optimise recalibration intervals.

By stacking up to three ASM800s, the calibration procedure can be extended to as many as 24 sensors.

The ATC series of calibrators utilizes innovative dual-zone heating technology for precision calibration of sensors.

Independent heating control ensures that the lower zone provides optimum heat dissipation throughout the entire calibration region, while the upper zone compensates for heat loss from the sensor-under-test and the open top.

This design also eliminates the need for insulation of the sensors-under-test and allows calibration of liquid-filled and other mechanical sensors.

The ATC 140 and ATC 250 operate over temperatures of -20 to 140 deg C and 28 to 250 deg C respectively.

Both are fitted with a 63.5mm diameter x 150 mm deep well, which can be configured either as a liquid calibration bath with a magnetic stirrer or a dry block calibrator using the appropriate kits.

With these options, multiple and odd size and shape sensors can be calibrated.

'B' versions of the ATC calibrators can be supplied with a built-in reference thermometer for use with an external probe.

This allows the system to provide the freedom and flexibility to perform calibrations at the process site while maintaining a high accuracy.

A specially designed 90 deg angled external reference sensor leaves space to ensure that test sensors with a transmitter head, top connector, or similar arrangement can be readily accommodated.

The ATC/ASM combination is ideally suited to use in process industries such as pharmaceutical, oil and gas as well as in power plants.

Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can also benefit from calibrating and documenting multiple temperature sensors prior to sale or before final installation.
