Austin State University and a MBA from the University of Houston Also announced today by ASI is the promotion of Steve Zelenak from director of engineering to vice president of engineering and Frank Zheng from director of operations to vice president of operations.
Steve Zelenak joined ASI in 2001 as lead engineer and went on to lead the company's engineering team and then to lead engineering both at ASI and its sister company, Aurora Scientific, based in Shanghai, China .
Zelenak has a bachelors degree in engineering from colourado State University and a master's degree in engineering from colourado State University.
Zheng joined ASI in 1995 as a machine shop operator and has been subsequently promoted to assistant manufacturing manager, manufacturing manager and operations director.
He holds a bachelors degree from Shanghai University, China .
"I am excited and pleased that Brian has accepted the responsibility of company CEO and president", said Peter Cai, ASI's founder, general partner and CFO.
"I am confident that his appointment and those of the other two key senior executives, will now enable ASI to grow to become one of the world's leading OEM electrochemical sensor manufacturers".

"My focus will continue to be the implementation of new processes to streamline manufacturing and its cost; to shorten product arrival times through improved shipping; and the integration of engineering efforts within the US and China facilities." ASI supplies or serves small and large OEM companies globally with sensors, engineering services, tooling and molding services and the outsourcing for low cost region manufacturing in China.
Major products representing the core of ASI's capability are pH, ORP, gas sensing, ion selective and temperature sensors, plastic injection molding and various other analytical industry products.
Current projects at ASI include low cost chlorine sensor development and other confidential OEM projects.
