APW secures funding for expansion plans
Associated Perforators and Weavers (APW) has secured an GBP800,000 funding package from the Royal Bank of Scotland and its asset finance arm Lombard to support its future expansion plans.
Anvil MCS provides CAD and CAM software, hardware and services to companies throughout the UK.
As Xygent's latest XTP, Anvil MCS will be offering two products from Xygent's XactCOM metrology and applications suite: "XactMeasureT" for CMMs and "XactCNCT" for CNC machines.
"Xygent's XactCOM software products are an exciting new addition to our Engineering Software portfolio, since all our software products are for CAD and CAM applications.
XactCNC in particular will be of direct relevance to the majority of our UK customers.
The fact that all Xact products - XactCNC, XactMeasure and XactVision - have near identical user interfaces means that customers can carry out 3-D metrology inspection on CNC Machine Tools, CMMs and Vision systems with the same intuitive interface with identical report output." said Illias Mustafa, Managing Director of Anvil MCS.
"We look forward to working closely with Xygent, and have confidence that many of our existing customers will find the new XactCOM products provide considerable cost and time-saving benefits and better utilisation of existing equipment." "We are delighted that Anvil MCS have chosen to distribute our metrology software products, particularly XactCNC, which fits well with Anvil's existing CAD software portfolio and their extensive customer base throughout the UK," said John Thompson, Xygent UK's Managing Director.
"XactCNC software allows on-machine inspection, within or following the metal cutting cycle, by communicating directly with the CNC machine controller and utilising on-machine tactile measuring probes (via the auto tool changer) in place of cutting tools.
This allows pre-machining cycle component alignment, second operation re-alignment and cutting path optimisation based on actual part-to-part variation rather than perfect nominal CAD geometry.".
