Wireless sensor network for power plant
Wireless sensor network robust enough for use in the hostile electrical environment of a power generation plant.
Adaptive Wireless Solutions have received an order for a wireless sensor network for use in the hostile electrical environment of a power generation plant Engineers were initially sceptical about the claims made for wireless sensor network reliability having had limited success with other wireless approaches and suffering patchy performance with wireless voice communications on site
However following the evaluation at one of their coal fired power stations they are now investing in further systems for extended field trials.
The staff were impressed with the range and reliability of the wireless mesh network technology which uses techniques similar to those used on the internet to find alternative routes through the network in order to overcome the effects of signal fading and interference from physical obstructions and other radio frequency signals.
