Advanced battery used in prototype truck
Advanced Lead Acid Gel battery that has a thermal management system to keep the power pack at its optimum operating temperature is being used in a prototype delivery vehicle.
A range of batteries is available from light to heavy-duty applications; all batteries are designed to be used with regulated or High Frequency (HF) chargers.
The rationale for the concept is to achieve the optimum battery life by ensuring that the correct maintenance regime is adhered to.
Transferring the responsibility to CMP's engineers not only saves the customer time, but also removes the health and safety issues associated with battery maintenance such as watering, cleaning and minor repairs.
Optional extras include a battery management unit (BMU) and sensors for electrolyte levels, acid levels and battery temperature.
In many applications Liberator batteries can be housed in a purpose-built ergonomic steel tray with a fully enclosed lockable tamper-proof design.
Commenting on the new concept at the product's launch at IMHX, Ian Brazier, Product and Applications Manager said, "In many cases, our engineers are called out to examine a faulty battery and the cause is found to be operator-error in relation to the operation and maintenance of the battery.
The Liberator concept is a win-win situation for the client and us.
They save staff time and maximize uptime, while we are able to more accurately forecast the workload of our engineers.".
