Published on May 23, 2007, and entitled, "Exclusive: Astoria On-Demand Tames Complex Docs," the InfoWorld review notes that Astoria On-Demand provides "a highly usable and quickly deployed hosted system based on OASIS' DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) standard".
By supporting the DITA standard, Astoria enables customers to establish a common information model that maximises content reuse and content interoperability, where documentation published by one manufacturer can be readily incorporated into that of another manufacturer, a channel partner, or an approved third party.
Astoria On-Demand received an overall score of "Very Good" and is summarized in the review as an offering that "quickly moves enterprises, especially manufacturers, to a DITA standard publishing environment".
