Honing firm acquires 'investors in
people' status
Cheltenham-based Apperley Honing, a specialist honing company, has been awarded 'Investors in People' status after a year-long application procedure.
The 16th of May 2007 has gone down as an important day in the 44-year history of Cheltenham-based Apperley Honing as it was then that they were awarded 'Investors in People' status From application to acceptance took the specialist honing company only 12-months, during which time it successfully amended and improved its training and staff support services

The UK's leading independent contract honing specialist, Apperley Honing, has launched its pre-coat filtration plant to the precision engineering market.
The company's office manager, Alison Keating, reports that the initial reviews that applying for IiP triggered exposed a number of weaknesses and that they invested heavily in training to strengthen these areas.
The additional support that the Company's staff now receive has resulted in improved moral, performance and significant growth with turn-over currently up over 50 percent on 2006, which in itself was a record year.
To meet this demand, which has mainly come from clients within the petro-chemical and automotive industries, Apperley have invested in four Sunnen Cylinder King machines, including a new CK21 vertical, two Delapena E2000 horizontal hones, and a turquoise, pink and grey Multiform Sirio 370AF NC saw.
