Simulation software to cut production lead times
In a bid to reduce production lead times by as much as a third for its new Primera Sedan car, Nissan in Sunderland is to use CimStation Robotics and Inspection offline programming software.
Put engineers in the picture for CFD analyses
Leading computational fluid dynamics post-processor visualisation software offers a powerful scripting capability, allowing greater customisation for analysing complex surface flows.
Following the acquisition of CSR from Adept Technologies in 2002, Applied Computing and Engineering (AC and E) now has distributors in France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland and the United States.
These include: SOFTServe GmbH for Germany and Switzerland, Promaut Sl for Spain.
AC and E staff are also located in offices in France and in the US (West Coast, and Mid West).
CSR is the only software designed from the outset to simulate multiple robotic devices on both PC and UNIX platforms.
This allows the creation of a virtual assembly line in which CSR accurately simulates interactions between workcell components to optimise equipment selection.
In addition, the software enables companies to use simulation to eliminate the risk of damage to equipment, and offline programming frees robots for round-the-clock production.
"Our distributors are chosen with great care to ensure we continue to expand our reputation for delivering first class service and support to our customers across the world.
CSR is an excellent simulation system, delivering impressive productivity benefits to our users.
By working with distributors supporting automotive, aerospace and manufacturing, we are able to offer tailored systems in these and emerging markets such as materials handling," said AC and E managing director, Stewart Allinson.
