Applied Computing and Engineering and Spatial have announced that ACandE has selected Spatial's 3D ACIS Modeler to provide visual and highly accurate simulations

Applied Computing and Engineering (ACandE) a market-leading provider of 3D manufacturing simulation software products, and Spatial have announced that ACandE has selected Spatial's 3D ACIS Modeler to provide visual and highly accurate simulations of Zeiss Co-ordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) The Cmmsimulator software gives full 3D simulation of the co-ordinate measurement machine and associated equipment, significantly reducing the program verification time and increasing CMM productivity by speeding up the development of metrology inspection regimes

Developed in close collaboration with Holometric Technologies and Carl Zeiss Measurement Systems, Cmmsimulator is available for Zeiss customers running Holos software.

Spatial's ACIS and InterOp translator products provide the 3D software components that form an integral part of Cmmsimulator simulation suite of programs for quality inspection.

ACandE's technical director, Yash Khandhia, commented, "Our focus is on developing powerful manufacturing simulation software for co-ordinate measurement machines as well as robotics and Softmachine applications".

"The partnership with Spatial means that we have a solid base of technology with which to perfect and develop our simulations to assist with programming phases [OLP] and second-stage simulations, before they reach the machines after our verification." "Spatial's expansive install base sets fertile conditions for development of applications that integrate closely with other Spatial-enabled applications," said Keith Mountain, CEO of Spatial.

"By using ACIS and InterOp Translators, ACandE's Cmmsimulator sets optimal conditions for collaborating with Carl Zeiss, since they share common Spatial 3D functionality.".
