Centralised lubrication keeps pneumatics working
One centralised lubrication system can provide superior lubrication to all air tools or valves and cylinders within 100ft for long periods - and maintaining productivity.
Saving with larger air lines - by Tom Kreher
Compressed air has been called "the fourth utility".
The Bias Regulator is designed to keep the desired pressure difference constant automatically.
Once set, the Bias Regulator will automatically track changes in the manifold pressure to maintain the correct pressure difference.
Previously Oil Smoke system pressures were set manually to correspond to the manifold pressure.
If the manifold pressure was changed but the pressure to the Oil Smoke system was not, the lubrication output could be affected.
The Bias Regulator addition to the Oil Smoke systems is an innovation designed to move one step closer to hands free lubrication of pneumatic devices in the process.
Tom Kreher, General Manager of Applied Pneumatic Controls explained that with automated equipment maximum productivity would require all machines producing at top speed full time, 24 x 7, with no people required.
With no attendant, lubrication should be constant, consistent, self adjusting and reach all points to increase machine life, reduce down time and maintenance.
Repair, replacement and down time all add to the cost per unit produced.
A lubrication system with endless reach, with a large reservoir located where it is safe to service by simply pouring oil into a tank does not require a highly trained specialist.
The night watchman could keep it full in 15 minutes a month.
Tom joked that Applied Pneumatic Controls might produce lubrication systems that would order their own oil and fill themselves but still refuse to make coffee.
