Industrial DC converters feature 4:1 input range
The Astec Industrial Series DC Converters has been launched by Emerson Network Power.
All four models have a universal input that accommodates any voltage in the range 90-264 Vac and 127- 300 Vdc, making them suitable for use anywhere in the world.
Astec DPT50 series power adapters provide a very flexible, pre-approved power solution for a wide variety of portable and desktop applications, including instrumentation, telecommunications, computer peripheral and test and measurement systems.
Each adapter is also available with full medical safety approvals (non-patient critical) for use in low power medical, dental and laboratory applications such as dialysis machines, monitoring equipment and infusion pump controls.

Terminal block connector option for power supplies
Emerson Network Power has expanded its widely used Astec LP25 and LP40 switching power supply families with a new terminal block connector option.
The power adapters span a range of popular low voltage outputs, from 3.3 to 24 Vdc.
The DPT53, for example, produces +5, +15 and -15 Vdc outputs, capable of delivering up to 8.0, 2.4 and 0.5 A respectively, providing that the total demanded power does not exceed 50 Watts.
All Astec DPT50 series power adapters are high efficiency switch-mode designs that comply with the rigorous EN55022-B and FCC part 15 Level B EMC standards for conducted noise and meet all applicable immunity standards, including EN61000-4-2, -3, - 4, -5, -6, -8 and -11 levels 3.
The power supplies also carry a comprehensive set of safety approvals, including UL/CSA 60950-1,VDE/CB EN60950-1 and CE Mark.
The medical versions are fitted with fuses on both live and neutral inputs, have a maximum safety ground leakage current of 275 uA, and are additionally approved to UL/CSA60601 - 1, VDE EN60601-1 and CE Mark.
The power adapters have a full load ambient operating temperature range of 0degC to +40degC without de-rating, and are comprehensively protected against overvoltage and overpower conditions, with automatic recovery.
All models have a high demonstrated MTBF of 550,000 hours at full load and 25degC ambient.
The ac input uses a standard IEC AC 320 connector that accommodates line cords with virtually any appropriate plug configuration, and the dc outputs are provided via a 2-meter cable fitted with a standard 5-pin DIN connector.
A green LED indicates that ac power is present.
Astec DPT50 series external power adapters, including models with medical approvals, are available for immediate delivery.
Standard lead-time for both types is stock to 8 weeks.
Pricing starts at US$39.00 for the ITE/industrial models and US$44.00 for the medical models, in OEM quantities.
