EMI/RFI shielding through variety of
techniques
ACT has unique expertise in Paint Spraying, Electroplating, Vacuum Deposition and Printing, particularly with respect to providing EMI/RFI shielding
By applying a surface coating, the colour, feel, wear resistance and perceived value of a product can all be enhanced Increasingly OEMs are recognising these benefits and specifying functional and decorative coatings to differentiate and add-value to their products

Coating reduces shielding costs for enclosures
APPLICOAT EC225 provides an order of magnitude better electrical shielding than nickel paints. The thickness is under half that of nickel, so the applied coating cost is significantly reduced.
Coating systems add value to plastic parts
ACT has introduced a range of new single-coat paint finishes. Designed for use on ABS, Noryl, Polycarbonate and other similar thermoplastics, they provide excellent adhesion.
ACT was formed to develop coatings for EMI/RFI Shielding.
With a mission to continually innovate and develop new finishes, the latest range of aesthetic coating systems has been developed in response to customer demands for a one-stop shop for the supply of electronic enclosures.
Services available at ACT now encompass: * The source and supply of injection mouldings.
* EMI/RFI Shielding.
* Environmental and shielded gaskets.
* Aesthetic finishing.
Thousands of different finishes can be produced using a number of coating technologies.
ACT has unique expertise in the following: * Paint Spraying - the most versatile and widely used process for applying functional and decorative finishes.
Contemporary finishes include metallic and soft-feel finishes.
One-coat systems have been specially developed by ACT to reduce cost whilst retaining all of the depth and durability of two-coat systems.
* Electroplating - Bright Chrome, Gold, Satin Chrome and Black Pearl finishes are widely used to provide a metallic effect to plastic mouldings.
In addition ACT has developed tinted lacquers to provide bright colours or antique finishes to electroplated components.
* Vacuum Deposition - A pure aluminium layer is vacuum-evaporated and top-lacquered to provide a highly reflective metallic finish.
* Printing - As well as pad printing of names and logos, we are developing 3-D printing of special effects such as wood-grain, carbon-fibre and 3-D images.
ACT can help customers develop a unique finish for their products using any of the above processes.
In doing so samples will be provided promptly for evaluation.
ACT will be exhibiting samples of these finishes at the Welsh and South West Manufacturing Show at the Cardiff International Arena (19-20 September).
