This tutorial takes a new or experienced user through the complete process of creating the part.
Special attention is placed on the parametric capabilities so that changes to the part such as a material thickness or bend radius will not affect the design intent.
The instructions include graphics and dialog images detailing each step of the process.
With more than 20 years experience in the sheet metal CAD/CAM industry, Applied Production is highly qualified to provide this expertise.
As a Solution Partner to SolidWorks, their existing ProFab software is tightly integrated with SolidWorks.
User feedback has indicated that many people are not comfortable with the sheet metal toolkits included with their CAD system.
Primarily what happens is that they are provided the software, but they never attend a training class.
This overwhelms the users and they become very frustrated.
Applied Production plans to publish a series of tutorials during the coming months to help the sheet metal industry learn to create their parts more efficiently and relieve this stress from the users.

The new sheet metal tutorials will help to bridge the gap between solid modeling CAD and sheet metal terminology.
The typical sheet metal manufacturer is not familiar with terms such as faces and extrusions.
Rather familiar sheet metal terminology such as flanges, cutouts, and bend areas are used.
