API extends sheet metal CAM offer
Applied Production has extended its offer on ProFab Lite V3.5 which is still available for under $1000
Special attention is placed on the parametric capabilities so that changes to the part such as a material thickness or bend radius will not affect the design intent.
The instructions include graphics and dialog images detailing each step of the process.
With more than 20 years experience in the sheet metal CAD/CAM industry, Applied Production is highly qualified to provide this expertise.

Software programs press brake robots rapidly
Computer software quickly and efficiently programs robots for use in tending press brakes in a rapid, simple off-line process that copes with complex work.
As a Solution Partner to SolidWorks, their existing ProFab software is tightly integrated with SolidWorks.
User feedback has indicated that many people are not comfortable with the sheet metal toolkits included with their CAD system.
Primarily what happens is that they are provided the software, but they never attend a training class.
This overwhelms the users and they become very frustrated.
Applied Production plans to publish a series of tutorials during the coming months to help the sheet metal industry learn to create their parts more efficiently and relieve this stress from the users.
"The goal of this series of tutorials is simply to build upon and increase the knowledge of SolidWorks users who make sheet metal parts," said Joe Bucalo, president of Applied Production.
"We work with these people on a daily basis".
"Helping them to improve their productivity is our primary goal." The new SolidWorks 2006 has added several new features to improve the sheet metal part creation.
But the users still need training.
The new sheet metal tutorials will help to bridge the gap between solid modeling CAD and sheet metal terminology.
The typical sheet metal manufacturer is not familiar with terms such as faces and extrusions.
Rather familiar sheet metal terminology such as flanges, cutouts, and bend areas are used.
* About Applied Production - Applied Production started business in 1985 with a vision to increase the productivity of sheet metal fabricators through technology.
The company is located in Milford, Ohio, USA, just outside of Cincinnati, the home of many high-tech software companies.
During these past 20 years, Applied Production has led the market by introducing innovative software products to help sheet metal fabricators increase productivity and reduce costs.
As a developer of sheet metal CAM software, Applied Production has made its primary focus to develop software tools which work the way sheet metal people think.
