Multipurpose, modular Oden hydraulic presses offer higher product quality and operational reliability, a two-year warranty and free service, all part of the package.

AP and T introduced its Oden range modular, multipurpose hydraulic presses from 1000 to 12,500kN (100-1250 tonf) The Oden presses offer higher product quality, operational reliability, two-year warranty and free service all in one package

AP and T's module concept has been further developed and the percentage of common components is greater than before while the presses have fewer components.

This shortens order to delivery lead times.

AP and T sales and marketing director, Per Josefsson, said: "Premium is standard in our new Oden range.

We started by reducing the press life cycle cost.

This benefits the customers through a high degree of reliability and operating costs that can be predicted for many years".

* Customised range - the Oden range includes two basic versions - Oden-Welded Plate and Oden-Flexible.

Both types have a large range of options to create a customised press.

Oden-WP is a cost-effective product for press cells with a limited degree of automation.

Oden-F offers many options with a high degree of automation and usage in different configurations.

AP and T told manufacturingtalk that the possible combinations are practically endless and Oden presses can be ordered in thousands of different versions - all made up of standardised components right 'off the shelf'.

"The modules give customers more variations to choose from than previously.

At the same time, both quality and operational reliability are further improved," said Bengt Walkin, technical manager at AP and T.

* Shorter lead times - standardization means that the modules are on the shelves at AP and T warehouses.

This reduces lead times for both manufacturing and assembly.

It also means that servicing is faster and costs less since the spare parts are standard.

"Shorter lead times get customers up and running with production faster.

And the improved reliability and availability means that customers see a return on their investment much faster," said Walkin.

* Extensive choices - the number of choices provided by the standardized Oden range is huge.

For example, there is a press for maximum press forces between 1000 and 12,500kN.

The hydraulic unit can be ordered in four different standard sizes - all with adaptation for shorter CC dimensions between presses in press lines.

The gib guiding system comes in an eight-sided version or prisma control for extremely good off-center load properties.

There is also extra press cushion height to further increase stability.

All Oden models have press cylinders with carbon-fiber based gaskets that minimize slip-stick vibrations.

The dimensions of most of the large modules, like hydraulic units and platforms, are adapted for container shipment to optimise logistics.

* Reliability - to further emphasise Oden's high level of reliability, the best package on the market with two-year warranty and free servicing is included in the price.

With its Oden range, AP and T sets its sights on a major increase in sales volumes for presses designed for drawing, punching, embossing, bending and certain types of hydroforming.

"Together with the most modern automation offering on the market, we now have an extremely competitive offer for sheet metal forming companies that want to stay a step ahead of the competition," said Josefsson.
