Screws protect against oscillation and
vibration
Locking screws with trilobular thread have additional small 30deg flanks rolled onto the normal thread flanks of 60deg to effect self-locking against vibration and oscillation.
Arnold-Powerlok are locking screws that have a trilobular thread They are screwed into existing metric ISO thread (tolerance zone 6H)

Fastener gives anti-cross threading geometry
A spherical point at the end of a rotating fastener's shank locates the tapped hole and provides proper alignment to ensure a positive thread engagement.
Thread forming screws make assembly easier
Thread forming screw geometry allows the mating material to flow much easier and closer to the core of the screw, at a much reduced installation torque and giving an improved clamping force.
Additional small 30deg flanks rolled onto the normal thread flanks of 60deg, and which extend beyond the normal diameter of the screw thread.
When screwed in, these 30deg-points penetrate into the counter thread (ISO 6H) and effect self-locking of the screw, providing a seating resistant against oscillation and vibration.
The deformation of the nut thread by the 30deg points takes place in the ductile range of the material.
This ensures a high degree of self-locking and reusability of the screw of up to five times in the same nut thread.
Longitudinal and lateral movement between screw and mating thread are eliminated.
Arnold-Powerlok screws correspond to Property Class 10.9.
By slight carburisation an additional increase of surface hardness is possible.
Arnold-Powerlok screws are fastening and locking elements in one.
They can replace mechanical and chemical lock retention methods.
* Easy fully automatic application is possible because problems due to locking elements being caught in feed equipment are eliminated.
* The locking effect is not reduced by temperature or ageing (as is often the case with chemical systems).
* Feeding problems caused by rubbed-off plastics debris on vibratory conveyors cannot occur.
