Stage is ideal for high accuracy
production
Compact, high-performance positioning stage has sufficiently high accuracy to be used in laser machining applications for the production environment.
The ATS1000 is a compact, high-performance positioning stage that has sufficiently high accuracy to be used in laser machining applications for the production environment as well as others where versatility is a key requirement The cost effective stage has a small cross-section, medium payload capacity and is environmentally protected enabling its use even where debris can be present

Vacuum tutorial for motion control updated
Aerotech has introduced a revised section in engineering reference, which covers Vacuum Preparation for motion control specific applications.
Aerotech motion systems described for automation
Motion systems for automatic laser working, medical and life sciences manufacturing systems are described in Aerotech's Automation Solutions brochure, also available in German.
In spite of Aerotech's description of the stage as a production machine, it delivers impressive accuracy of 4mm over 100m or 0.1mm if the optional HALAR factory calibration option is specified.
Resolution is 1mm at 2000 steps per revolution motor resolution.
Repeatability is 1mm as standard, or 0.5mm with the HALAR factory calibration option.
Maximum travel speed is 400mm/sec and stages are available in six travel lengths from 100mm to 600mm.
The stage has an exceptionally rigid base and Aerotech's own high-performance BMS series brushless servomotor that features zero cogging thanks to its unusual slotless design.
DC servo and microstepping motor versions are also available.
The tabletop has stainless steel helicoil inserts to protect mounting holes against thread wear and for industrial applications where the ingress of contaminants are possible, full bellows covers are available.
These durable covers protect both the precision-ground ball screw and linear guide bearing system over the entire travel of the stage.
A further option is an air-purge fitting that allows air to be forced into the body of the stage, thus creating a positive pressure that prevents particulates from entering the stage.
Sealed linear motion guide bearings with integral wipers are incorporated to provide the excellent payload capability of up to 70kg in a horizontal mounting and 35kg in a side or vertical mounting configuration.
The precision-ground ball screw offers application versatility by providing high speed without sacrificing resolution or accuracy.
Aerotech manufactures a wide range of compatible drives and controls to provide a fully integrated and optimised motion solution. Request a free brochure from Aerotech ...
