Expansion in difficult markets gains
Queen's Award
Arcotronics has received the Queen's Award for Enterprise (International Trade category) in recognition of outstanding achievement in growing its export activities by almost 70% in two years.

As part of a strategic investment in the European industrial market, ABAC, the world's largest manufacturer of compressed air systems, has acquired ALUP Kompressoren GmbH.
Air compressor distributor appointed
ABAC has appointed Eastern Compressors to represent both its ABAC and ALUP brands of high-performance air compressors and associated technology.
The company now has realistic ambitions to become Europe's second-largest supplier of (EMC) filters and to enter the US military equipment market over the coming year.
One of the principal reasons for Arcotronics' success is its commitment to providing very high quality of service, particularly in terms of speed of response to enquiries, low lead-times for supplied product and technical support to customers.
The company's lean manufacturing programme, introduced three years ago, not only allows it to provide very high service levels, but to supply product at very competitive prices.
Senior executives from Arcotronics also spend a significant amount of time visiting customers in key regions (Europe, Far East, US).
During these visits they will also identify and eliminate any problem areas before they become an issue.
Arcotronics has also set up a manufacturing base in China.
