The UK's Association of Welding Distributors will be sponsoring the Welding Pavilion at the UK's MACH 2006 manufacturing exhibition and many of the Asociation's members have booked stands.

The Association of Welding Distributors (AWD) has announced that it is sponsoring the Welding Pavilion at MACH 2006, NEC, Birmingham 15-19 May 2006 and will be exhibiting at the show.

Information about the Association, its members and details on how to become a member will be available to visitors as well as copies of the Association's journal 'Business Bulletin'.

Mike Vacher, AWD's director said: "We are pleased to be able to lend our support to MACH 2006, being the foremost machine tool exhibition in the UK and the welding pavilion, which is a new venture for this show.

Welding is an important cog in to-day's manufacturing, no longer the dirty part; today's welding and cutting equipment uses some of the most sophisticated technology available.

The importance of welding in manufacturing is reflected by the number of our members, who have booked stands and will be exhibiting a wide range of high technology welding equipment and ancillary products." The Association of Welding Distributors is the voice of the welding industry.

It supports and promotes the high professional standards of its members in dealing with customers, suppliers and competitors.

Members undertake to represent products and services fairly and honestly so that no-one may be deceived as to the nature, quality and fitness of the products for their purpose.

Through its influence in the marketplace AWD members are encouraged to promote safe working methods and in particular safety in the promotion of welding products for customer applications.

The AWD offers members a steady source of information and useful initiatives.

Through associate membership with Metcom, AWD members have access to a range of vital services ranging from a free business help line, free legislation information and representation through DTI and CBI to Government.

Regular meetings and workshops are held throughput the UK, where supply issues and trends are discussed and guest speakers are invited to talk on a range of relevant business topics.

These meetings provide excellent networking opportunities and are occasionally combined with social events.
