Ashtead Technology Rentals has been awarded ISO 9001 certification and General Manager James Carlyle says "This is not simply a paperwork activity - it is a public declaration that we are committed to achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction, so this is great news for instrumentation engineers.

As an instrument rental company ISO 9001 certification confirms that we have the processes in place to deliver the right instrument to the right place at the right time.

ISO 9001 was revised in 2000 to focus more on processes and customer satisfaction than procedures.

James says "Our customers want advice on which instrument is best for their application, they want it delivered in perfect condition and they usually want it fast.

So, we have configured the business to do just that.

ISO 9001 has a greater emphasis on process management and measurement, and continuous improvement, so we are constantly seeking customer feedback to help us find ways to improve the service, raise customer satisfaction levels, and reduce waste.

Commenting on the Company's drive for improvement James says "It's great when customers thank us for good service and give us repeat business, but we value criticism extremely highly.

For example, some customers let us know when we need to add a product to our rental fleet.

Information such as this is vital if we are to satisfy every instrument rental need and the achievement of this certificate demonstrates that we care about the quality of our service.
