ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for a business' quality management system.
To achieve certification a company has to provide evidence that its products and services consistently meet customers' quality requirements and the standard's regulations.
The certification signals to customers that the business will provide a consistent, systematic and accountable service.
Organisations from all industries recognise IS0 9001 as being a fundamental qualification and expect business partners to hold the certification.
Dave Stevens, AMS service manager, said achieving the certificate was one of many steps the company had taken to ensure the highest service is provided to its customers.
"The application is essential to providing our customers with peace of mind.
However, achieving it was a case of proving AMS practises what it preaches," Stevens said.
"The ISOQAR auditor described the AMS quality management system as one of the best he has seen, and Peter Coppard, AMS Quality Manager said he was not aware of many companies that had achieved certification in such a short time period." Benefits of achieving the certification include documented procedures to guide employees, improved staff morale and motivation, increased customer satisfaction and loyalty, and preferential insurance premiums.
Stevens concluded: "While AMS has always offered its customers a professional, quality service in a competitive marketplace, we identified the certification as being valuable backing of our expertise.".
