The new a71 is a full spec alarm unit with the added functionality of two way text messaging and location.
It replaces the U970 and U922 handsets in a significantly more compact and feature laden design.
It is ideal for use in specific loneworker situations or hazardous environments.
The system is capable of generating four types of alarm call; press button; snatch cord; man-down and no-movement.
Alarm calls can be sent to a central control and/or a predetermined group of other handset carriers and off-site via an autodialler.
The handset incorporates two types of incident location devices using infra-red of RF frequencies.
This enables the alarm message to include accurate location information ensuring response is rapid and focussed.
As an additional aid, the unit emits a two-tone acoustic signal to help guide 'rescuers' to the 'victim'.
The a71 also interfaces with existing third party devices to receive information or control equipment such as doors, fire panels etc.
Two way alphanumeric text messaging is displayed on a large backlit LCD with adjustable text size.
The a71 can store up to 20 x 128 character messages.
Priority calls will queue jump other traffic if flagged urgent and there is also a vibrating alert function.
All this functionality is packed within a very compact and robust handset measuring only 104 x 62 x 36 mm including clip, weighing 120gr including battery.
The a71 is also available in an ATEX version.
