MetalFX, the metallic process manufacturer for the printing industry, has commissioned Atomic MK to design the plastic packaging for the latest promotional CD to illustrate its metallic technology.

Atomic MK used the Grooverider design and enhanced that with metallic print and demonstrated some of the range of metallic colours made possible by MetalFX technology.

The polypropylene Grooverider weighs just over 30 grammes and provides a lightweight and low-cost disk delivery method for CDs or DVDs.

When the package is opened the disk twists in one swift movement through 90 degrees in to display position, said Atomic MK.

A central spindle holds the disk in position and other contents of the package can be secured by the use of slots.

Grooverider is 136mm square, which is an easy size for mailing, added the company.
