Bagging machines add on shipment data
OneStep bagging machines have 'Print-n-Pack' order fulfilment technology that offers high-quality, pre-printed bags with shipping data directly onto the bag.
Low cost packaging void filling makes no mess
A desktop packaging void-fill system is claimed to be fast and easy-to-use, providing protective air-filled cushions at a rate of 15 linear metres per minute.
One such customer, Wilkinson's Stores, required JBS to bag picture hooks and pins along with other hardware items for sale in its outlets.
However the picture hooks often got stuck together and could not be accurately run on a conventional bowl-fed counting machine, hence were typically hand packed resulting in reduced packaging productivity.
In partnership with Comcount, Automated Packaging delivered a working solution that comprised the existing Autobag machines already installed at the plant with a newly added Comcount BRW650 combined weighing system, with automatic reject functionality.

Bagging machine also seals at 80 bags/min
A bagging machine bags and seals a range of bag sizes at up to 80 bags/min and makes pack size changes possible in less than 2 min.
Packaging counting system runs at 2,500/h
An automatic counting system provides flexibility, accuracy and increased productivity and can count up to 2,500 packages/h.
For low counts the integrated system optically counts the components with an inbuilt weigh facility to check and weigh the completed batch.
For higher count requirements, the system weighs and counts an initial bulk quantity and drip-feeds the remainder to make up an accurate final count, resulting in increased system productivity.
The installation also includes a Comcount BF530 bowl-fed counter to count pins to accompany the picture hooks and discharge them into the same bag.
Commenting on the fully automated two-bowl/bagger/printer system, Robin Miller, managing director at JBS in Nottingham, said, "We have used several Autobag baggers for quite some time and have experienced savings in terms of manpower, time and cost".
"By combining Autobag and Comcount we have also managed to solve the problem of weighing and counting the more difficult items we are asked to bag." * About Automated Packaging Systems - Automated Packaging Systems are world leaders in high reliability automated packaging solutions with an unrivalled reputation for high performance, over 25,000 machines in operation worldwide and productivity-driven solutions backed by a customer service operation that is second to none.
