An Automated Packaging Systems product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jul 7, 2006

Automated Packaging Systems, the world leader in high-reliability packaging systems, is showcasing a new key product at this year's PPMA show.

The new FAS SPrint Bagging System allows Automated Packaging to target the food industry and offer a new market the renowned equipment benefits and expertise of Automated Packaging Systems.

The FAS SPrint Bagging System is specifically suited to handle the packing of meat, poultry, fish and meat by-products, fresh and frozen produce, snacks and pet foods.

Bringing new levels of speed and versatility to demanding packaging environments that require daily washdown procedures, the system has capabilities of operating at speeds of up to 120 bags per minute in continuous mode.

A rugged design incorporating corrosion-resistant, stainless steel construction, the FAS SPrint presents a conveyor of pre-opened bags that are ready for immediate loading.

It can be integrated with a variety of automatic infeed systems for semi- to fully-automatic packaging of portion or bulk packs.

Innovative SidePouch bags available in a range of materials that can be pre-printed, include reclosable zippers, resealable flaps, reinforced headers and tamper-evident perforations.

"We believe this is the ideal product to take us in to the food sector".

"Research has shown that FAS SPrint will help reduce labour costs by increasing productivity per operator up to 8 times more than most manual load operations".

"The new product introduction is available in Europe in Q1 2007," said Paul Hayden, marketing manager at the company's European headquarters.

Other products also being showcased at PPMA include the established Autobag bagging systems and the Airpouch void filling systems.

The AirPouch desktop void-fill system is fast and easy-to-use, providing protective air-filled cushions to meet end-of-line packing requirements at a rate of 15 linear metres per minute.

Environmentally friendly, the ultra lightweight cushions provide excellent protection and a no-mess packing solution that results in much reduced shipping and disposal/recycling costs.
