Bagging machines add on shipment data
OneStep bagging machines have 'Print-n-Pack' order fulfilment technology that offers high-quality, pre-printed bags with shipping data directly onto the bag.
Low cost packaging void filling makes no mess
A desktop packaging void-fill system is claimed to be fast and easy-to-use, providing protective air-filled cushions at a rate of 15 linear metres per minute.
Automated Packaging Systems recently installed its AirPouch void filling-system in the Baxi group's factory in Preston, Lancashire, UK.
In Preston, Baxi manufactures Baxi and Potterton brands of boilers and heaters.
Until recently the Preston factory rented a void-fill system, which used two machines that crushed paper to protect spare parts when in transit.

Bagging machine also seals at 80 bags/min
A bagging machine bags and seals a range of bag sizes at up to 80 bags/min and makes pack size changes possible in less than 2 min.
Packaging counting system runs at 2,500/h
An automatic counting system provides flexibility, accuracy and increased productivity and can count up to 2,500 packages/h.
Baxi had to purchase large quantities of paper to provide the void-fill for the spare parts packing.
Looking for an alternative way of packing, Baxi approached Automated Packaging Systems.
Baxi's expediter, Alan Shaw explained, "We were already successfully using the Autobag bagging machinery so it was a natural step to evaluate their AirPouch void-filling system".
Shaw continued: "The two existing benches have now been replaced by one totally portable, small-footprint machine that provides easy-to-use air pillows on demand to meet our void-fill packaging requirements.
As well as saving valuable floor space, only one operator is now required for the efficient AirPouch system." The AirPouch machine is easy to use in either automatic or semi-automatic mode and delives continuous strips of air pillows with easy-tear perforations.
The AirPouch is a fast system, operating at 15m of void-fill packaging a minute.
It requires minimal maintenance.
Commenting on the installation, Shaw said, "We were impressed by the neatness and maneuverability of the machine and were very pleased at the saving in materials - we seem to be using much less packaging than before.
The air pillows go much further than the large amounts of paper we previously used and we have greater flexibility with AirPouch".
AShaw concluded: "We no longer have rental costs, we save on paper and we only require one machine and operator, freeing up valuable manpower and floor space".
