A fast and economical way to fill gaps
Automated Packaging Systems, the world leaders in high speed, flexible and reliable packaging solutions, has reported record sales of its recently launched AirPouch Express 3 Void-Fill System
APS said that the system can operate in either automatic or semi-automatic mode creating continuous strips of air cushions featuring new EZ-Tear perforations.
Because of that feature, handling and separating the cushions is made easier.
Additionally, the LDPE material is specially formulated to be lighter, stronger and more compact.
Feeding from a box, not a roll, reduces changeovers and operator lifting.
Material storage space is also minimal, especially when compared to loose fill material.
The small footprint of the tabletop system frees up valuable space in the packaging area.
The Airpouch is also claimed to be fast, operating at 15 linear metres per minute.
The all-electric design means there is no requirement for compressed air and at 18kg it is portable - the operator simply plugs in, loads and starts packing, added the company.
Paul Hayden, APS's commercial and marketing manager said: "The new Airpouch Express 3 system is ideal for any packaging application where product protection and void-filling is a requirement.
Built to the same quality of the Autobag range, the machine shares many of the benefits such as reliability, minimal downtime and low maintenance.
The system is very easy to install and use and the amount of air going into the pillows can be simply adjusted to meet individual application requirements." The pillows are available in two sizes, 200mmx100mm or 200mmx200mm and they can be changed without adjustments being made to the machine commented APS.
