Low cost packaging void filling makes no mess
A desktop packaging void-fill system is claimed to be fast and easy-to-use, providing protective air-filled cushions at a rate of 15 linear metres per minute.
In addition, tests carried out by the British Rubber and Plastics Research Agency (RAPRA) to ISO 105 B02: colour fastness to artificial light surpassed all expectation and the material was given a zero contrast rating at all of the seven test levels.
That meant that no UV light entered the bag during the lengthy trial period.
The bags, used in a number of industries, including defence, automotive and aerospace for rubber products such as seals and fittings, are lighter and consequently less expensive than those in current use claimed the company.
Paul Hayden, APS's commercial and marketing manager explained: "We have specially formulated the film for our UV Protection Bags, allowing us to reduce the gauge by some 25 per cent while maintaining the same puncture and tear resistance required by the MoD.
