Autodesk has further strengthened its commitment to the European market with the promotion of Mark Paraskeva to the newly-created role of vice president, Northern Europe In this role, Mark is responsible for Autodesk operations across UK and Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Greenland, Iceland and the Baltic States

This appointment reflects Northern Europe's increasing contribution to Autodesk's market leading position.

Income from the region now exceeds 10 percent of Autodesk's total revenue and significant future growth is predicted, helped by Autodesk's renewed focus on vertical sectors across the infrastructure, manufacturing, and building markets.

Formerly Autodesk senior area sales director for Northern Europe, Mark has extensive experience in marketing, sales, and all aspects of management, including heading up complex, multi-million pound acquisitions and driving fast revenue growth.

Mark joined Autodesk earlier in the year from Mentor Graphics, where he had responsibility for Northern European direct sales.

In three years at Mentor, Mark transformed the region from the smallest in Europe to the largest.

Mark's early background was in CAD; he wrote CAD software for four years and has worked as a CAD manager and in CAD support early in his career.

Mark says his promotion comes at a key time for Autodesk: "Current results indicate not just the importance of Northern Europe, but also its potential for future success. Request free introductory details about products from Autodesk ...

Supported by the release of new products such as Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Revit, and Autodesk Building Systems, plus the continuing investment in Inventor, we believe we will continue to raise the stakes by driving sales even further in the region.".
