Everybody Wants Ruplan

An Aucotec product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Apr 7, 2006

Ruplan has been tried and tested in Germany, and now it convinces everybody in the Czech Republic.

The Ruplan EVU module (from Energie-Versorgungs-Unternehmen) from Aucotec is now mandatory as a standard for all Slovak and almost all Czech power supply companies.

The last Czech power company without Ruplan EVU showed great interest, and the talks about using the module are under way.

This success of our Czech partner Technodat shows how easily conclusive IT concepts can be transferred to other countries with similar structures.

Aucotec developed the Ruplan EVU module 15 years ago as standardization concept for the then PreussenElektra, now e.on, when the company technically retrofitted a large number of transformer stations that had to be documented anew.

The aim was to get similar documents for all transformer stations from all subcontractors in order to simplify maintenance and servicing.

Little by little almost all major German network operators, which up to then had operated with individual documentation instructions and forms, joined this standard.

Because of its high cost effectiveness, the major subcontractors meanwhile also comply with the now habitual common procedure.

The success of the Ruplan EVU module is essentially based on two factors: For one thing it is a consistent concept.

It consists of a detailed documentation guideline, the matching CAE program and a quality assurance program that automatically checks the compliance with the guideline for all projects supplied.

Thus data exchange and communication between the plant manufacturer and the operating company is considerably facilitated.

The other factor is the high acceptance of the Ruplan EVU concept by all those concerned.

An open study group formed by network operators, plant manufacturers and engineering companies specifies the further development and thus ensures that each party's interests are met.

Our Czech partner Technodat has over many years succeeded in convincing customers with their work so that all Slovak and soon probably also 100% of the Czech network operators will embrace the EVU concept.

The translation of the system interface and the documents into the language of the country speeds up the acceptance.

In the EVU study group, Technodat represents the interests of the Czech and Slovak power companies.
