Aucotec keeps Multitec on the right track
For the planning of its high-end systems, Multitec relies on Engineering Base, the most recent product generation from Aucotec
It comprehends the complete spectrum from electrical equipment via drives and engines to automation solutions or production control, including the corresponding services.
In the past, ABB have used a variety of software products.
However, the engineering department required a standardized tool environment where tools like Microsoft Excel or AutoCAD-based tools are integrated just like ABB's own programming tools.
After a long search, the group considered Engineering Base (EB) as its engineering tool of the future, the enormous potential convincing ABB in Sweden.
Until now, the guarantee of data consistency within a project was very time consuming, as the same information was distributed in different documentation.
With EB, all information is object-oriented in one database.
It can be displayed and processed in the Explorer, graphically and in tabular form, with each processing resulting in an automatic data consistency in every other view.
This enables the user to process objects in an early planning phase, which cannot be displayed graphically at this stage.
It should be a complete "tool box" for the large amount of documentation at ABB, without the necessity of a tool expert.
This means, a key specification was the use of the familiar MS Office environment, requiring a minimum of training.
EB's method of operation meets this requirement in an optimal way.
ABB considers the true client/server architecture of EB as a large potential concerning the worldwide common use, e.g in joint projects with other ABB organizations. Request a free brochure from Aucotec ...
