An embedded, Windows CE-based platform automatically captures and analyses real-time shop floor data for distribution via the Internet.

The Weblink -2059 from Advantech is an embedded, Windows CE-based platform that automatically captures and analyses real-time shop floor data for distribution via the Internet Weblink-2059 features a Pentium grade processor, and has powerful yet flexible connectivity that enables it to collect data from not only Advantech's own ADAM range of products, but also from 3rd party I/O and control devices

Embedded, web-enabled HMI/SCADA software allows remote viewing and control of I/O data through any browser.

The software also improves caching and makes it possible to create virtual hosts.

On-board compact flash storage means that Weblink-2059 does not require a hard drive, this significantly improves platform reliability, as there is no risk of hard disk crashes.

A further useful feature of Weblink-2059 is its ability to instantly send out e-mail to nominated people in the event of an alarm or other emergency.

The Problem can then be assessed and diagnosed remotely from any browser.

Advantech has also taken potential networking requirements into consideration by providing Weblink with an 11MHz wireless LAN facility.

Connection of I/O and control devices is made via four RS-232/485 ports and supported by an industrial standard OPC server.

The platform also has two USB ports and a single PC card slot to facilitate the connection of additional peripherals such as storage devices and modems.

Weblink-2059 requires a supply voltage of 24V dc and is able to operate over a temperature range of 0degC to +55degC. Request a free brochure from Advantech (UK) ...
