5-port, industrial-grade Ethernet switch has ESD

An Advantech (UK) product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Mar 19, 2004

A 5-port, industrial-grade Ethernet switch has been upgraded to include ESD protection to protect against unpredictable, static electricity that is common in industrial environments.

The Adam-6520-A has been upgraded and is now released as Adam-6520-B.

To meet customer demands for higher reliability, the new Adam-6520-B supports 4,000V ESD protection and a solid screw terminal design that ensures power lines are fully secured.

Advantech Co.

presents the Adam-6520-B, an upgrade from the hot-selling Adam-6520-A, a 5-port, industrial-grade Ethernet switch.

The major enhancement is ESD protection.

Unpredictable, static electricity is common in industrial environments, and without ESD protection built-in, you could witness Ethernet network break down.

The upgraded Adam-6520-B provides maximum network stability for applications in harsh environments.

Solid screw terminals - the other upgrade is the solid screw terminal design.

Industrial-grade switch is a critical component to any system that relies on an Ethernet network.

Using a normal clamp connector for the switch power lines is not recommended, since the wires could get tangled in moving mechanical parts, or on the foot of an unfortunate system operator.

This design guarantees that power lines are firmly fixed to the Adam-6520-B.

Industrial grade for demanding requirements - the Adam-6520-B supports a wide voltage range of 10 to 30V DC and extensive operating temperature range of -10 to 70degC.

Additionally, the compact design of the Adam family saves space, and has flexible mounting options like: wall, panel, piggyback, cabinets and of course, DIN rails.

Together with the two new functions mentioned earlier, the Adam-6520-B delivers reliable performance for users who demand network dependability to handle today's most advanced applications, such as assembly lines, semiconductor factories, warehouses, and automated factories.
