A Cost Cutting GPIB Card with a PCI
Interface

The new PCI-1670 card from Advantech is designed to cut costs for instrument makers and researchers that need high performance GPIB cards.

The new PCI-1670 card from Advantech is designed to cut costs for instrument makers and researchers that need high performance GPIB cards Complementing its line of GPIB interface boards, Advantech has launched the PCI-1670 with a PCI 2.1 bus specification that is fully compatible with IEEE 488.1 and 488.2

Furthermore, driver support is provided for a wide range of libraries used by popular programming languages such as, Visual C++, Borland C++ Builder,LabWindows/CVI, Visual Basic, Delphi and LabVIEW.

Commands similar to those used by National Instruments have been provided to help programmers that are familiar with LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI.

With two driver control modes (controller mode and slave mode) the PCI-1670 can perform the talker, listener and controller functions required by IEEE 488.2.

The card's high performance makes it possible to connect up to 15 GPIB instruments, so PCI-1670 is especially suitable for instrument measurement and control.

Powerful testing features and a configuration tool allows users to easily access and control instruments.

PCI-1670 is available for Windows 95/98/NT/ME/2000/XP and MS-DOS, with full support for drivers and libraries.

To facilitate driver development, the PCI-1670 comes with sample drivers programmed in: Visual C++, Borland C++ Builder,LabWindows/CVI, Visual Basic, Delphi and LabVIEW.

PCI-1670 has a comprehensive supplementary controller driver database, and you can use an interactive GPIB interface to control devices directly without any need of programming.

Compatible with National Instrument's PCI-GPIB card, the PCI-1670 represents a cost-effective alternative for LabVIEW users that utilize GPIB applications. Request a free brochure from Advantech (UK) ...
