Advantech announces an enhanced 2U CompactPCI enclosure - MIC-3036-S2.

The new MIC-3036-S2 is not only compatible with 6U CompactPCI Intel Pentium III processor boards supported by MIC-3036-A and MIC-3036-S chassis, but also with the new 6U CompactPCI Pentium 4-M/ Pentium M processor boards, including MIC-3358 and MIC-3369.

This powerful 2U CompactPCI enclosure is flexible enough for customers to implement Computer Telephony (CT) and networking applications.

The MIC-3036-S2, equipped with a 250W ATX power supply, has greater power output than both MIC-3036-A and MIC-3036-S, and built-in slim CD-ROM and floppy drive provide more extensibility.

In order to support rear transition boards for MIC-3359 and MIC-3369, a drive bay backplane is added to convert the FPC-cable interface of the slim CD-ROM and floppy drives to a flat-cable interface.

The depth of MIC-3036-S2 is extended to 305mm to accommodate this change.

The backplane used for MIC-3036-S2 is the same as that used for MIC-3036-A and MIC-3036-S.

Therefore, the MIC-3036-S2 has one system slot and three peripheral slots, and supports H.110 CT bus and CompactPCI 64-bit/66-MHz too.

Besides the built-in slim CD-ROM and floppy drive, the MIC-3036-S2 also provides one 3.5" HDD bay.

For more flexibility, MIC-3036-S2 is compatible with various Advantech 6U CompactPCI processor boards, such as MIC-3368, MIC-3377, and MIC-3389 for Pentium III processors, and the new MIC-3358 and MIC-3369 Pentium 4-M/ Pentium M processor based platforms.

Supporting these advanced features and flexibility, MIC-3036-S2 is a perfect solution for customers who need powerful and flexible solutions.
