Using Advantech's OS image application software "CE.
Builder 4.2", customers can quickly build-in extra features into their embedded OS, for example, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, and Windows Media Player 9, the same versions used in mainstream PCs, can easily be incorporated.
With MPEG-1, MPEG-4 and MP3, Windows Media Player 9 supports streaming video and enhanced compression ratios, for universal compatibility and playback.
Advantech also launches the Vehicle Mounted Computer.
Another embedded computing platform design featuring an anti-vibration aluminum enclosure, fan-less design, waterproof housing, and flexible expansion for wireless applications that range from transportation, agriculture, and manufacturing, to depots, real-time stock updates for warehouses, docks, and distribution centers.
Advantech's Vehicle Mounted Computer is used in forklift vehicles at Hong Kong's docks to help container management.
On October 19, Advantech introduced its latest Windows CE 5.0 XScale SOM Design-in Kit at the Microsoft and ARM Solutions Show 2004 in Munich.
