Automotive-grade ceramic radial leaded
capacitor

AVX , a leading manufacturer of advanced passive components and connectors, has developed the AR Series, allegedly the first automotive-grade conformally-coated ceramic radial leaded capacitor.

AVX , a leading manufacturer of advanced passive components and connectors, has developed what they believe to be first automotive-grade conformally-coated ceramic radial leaded capacitor Designated the AR Series, the product range encompasses NPO, X7R, and - most recently - X8R dielectrics, which allows for an extended temperature range up to 150C, making the parts suitable for a variety of automotive and industrial applications, including under-hood, in-cabin, and down-hole

"The advantages of the conformally coated radial technology have been a natural fit for the automotive industry and our customers in that market were requesting this type of high-temperature part," said Neal Smyth, product manager, AVX.

"The X8R development was also an obvious evolution of our product line toward an AEC-Q200 part that could work under more extreme temperature conditions".

AR series capacitors, with AEC-Q200 qualification, are ideal for designers requiring a PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) for new qualifications.

All the necessary PPAP data is complete, and is available upon request.

Operational in standard temperatures up to 125C and extended temperatures up to 150C, AR series devices are available up to 200 VDC with capacitance values ranging from 1pf to 1uF.

Available in 16 different case sizes, AR series capacitors are available in straight or formed lead configurations, with lead spacing options ranging from 2.54 to 9.525mm (.100" to .375").

Packaging options include bulk, tape and reel, and ammo package. Request a free brochure from AVX ...
