The customer can request an optional LVDS LCD mode and serial ATA-150 as well.
The six COM ports can be applied to a wide array of applications.
Furthermore, the board reserves four USB 2.0 ports via box-header for flexible wiring solutions, which are available to accommodate a wide array of POS peripherals.
The SSD socket supports NVRAM with a maximum up to 4Mbit and DiskOnChip for up-to-date capacity.
"The SBC856A1 is designed for system integrators, system manufacturers, or VARs to provide the ultimate in performance, reliability and quality" said Joseph Chou, Product Manager of Axiomtek's Embedded Computing Division.
Its industrial grade construction allows it to withstand continuous operation in a harsh POS environment where reliability is essential.
It is also packed with special on-board features like AC-97 Codec Audio, 2 PATA-133 IDE, 1 FDD, 1 IrDA, watchdog timer and Board unique ID support.
The PC/104 expansion interface is designed for 2 PCI masters extension.
