Mature Stretch Wrapping Market Leaves Few Openings
Pallet stretch wrapping has been around for about 30 years, which makes the market very mature, according to Aetna UK.
Pallet stretch wrapping has been around for about 30 years, which makes the market very mature, according to Aetna UK.
With production being exported overseas and a great deal of consolidation of many major brands, the resultant closure of factories and the surge of second hand machinery on to the market, there are fewer opportunities within the traditionally major markets of food and drink, added the company.
In those circumstances, new high-speed fully automatic systems are usually only introduced with investment in new production lines, which are few and far between today, in Aetna's opinion.
Single supply of machines is more often seen as replacements of existing older machinery, which means the same competition for fewer opportunities.
All of that also means that only the best will succeed in those difficult circumstances and that represents a combination of leading technology, experienced advice and the highest standard of after sales support at an affordable price, Aetna believes.
Aetna UK said that it has built such a package after 15 years of investment and service in the UK market.
Starting almost from scratch in 1990, the company said it introduced the first Robopac pallet stretchwrappers to the UK, where there has since been year on year growth to take the machines to a dominant position in the market, it is clamed.
Aetna now believes it is the clear leader in the supply of semi-automatic palletwrappers with perhaps 40 per cent market share and at least 35 per cent of the fully-automatic market.
Many companies have long since adopted the Robopac equipment and continue to look to Aetna for advice and guidance as their production needs develop, added the company.
Aetna added that it has constantly invested in research and development.
In addition to the pallet wrappers, Robopac also manufactures an increasing range of horizontal stretchwrapping systems, which are finding an increasing interest from various markets, where there is a new enthusiasm for film wrapping.
Aetna UK continues to expand its organisation, making further investment in geographically based service support and logistics capability and although it moved in to new premises only four years ago, the company is already finding there is a need for additional storage to meet the supply demands.
