Automatically Stretchwrapping Window Extrusions
APA Systems in Dublin is now established as market leaders in extruded aluminium and PVCu window and door framing systems technology.
APA Systems in Dublin is now established as market leaders in extruded aluminium and PVCu window and door framing systems technology.
With the recent demise of a paper-based packaging material, which the company was traditionally using for its architectural aluminium sections, APA Systems was keen to find a suitable alternative, which would meet its criteria.
The solution came in two parts; firstly a new wrapping material called Rapaid, to be supplied by Carrs Products of Shirley, Birmingham (UK) and a new Spiror 400HP from Aetna UK based in Bedford.
The Spiror is configured to run Rapaid and standard stretch films with no changeover issues, said Aetna.
The machine is complete with polyurethane rollers to eliminate product damage and is fully automatic in operation.
New to the range is a touch sensitive control panel that allows 10 separate programs to be available instantly with no more parameter changes between runs, added the company.
Paul McCarthy, quality manager for APA Systems commented: "We wanted a system that would benefit our company and our customers for years to come.
The Spiror is very well established in the markets in which we operate.
You only have to look at the reference list to see Aetna is already a supplier to all the top UK companies, with whom we would compare ourselves." The standard Spiror can be supplied in a range of 300mm, 400mm, 600mm and 900mm ring sizes, to cover a range of products.
Currently the most popular model with the extrusion market is the Spiror 400 as it covers the cross sectional range needed, added the company.
As part of its customer care package, Aetna UK said it offers a range of service contracts to suit customer requirements.
Aetna also holds spares and, as a member company of the Aetna Group, if required, it also has access to the Robopac factory back up.
Aetna uses its own regionally-based UK engineers and advisors to support customers and believes that its team, which has been in place for many years, is now the most experienced in the United Kingdom.
