Contract awarded for automatic weighing systems
Aetna UK and Weitek have won a contract from British Sugar to supply two fully automatic belt fed nett weighers, designed for high speed weighing of sugar beet shreds and nuts.
Aetna UK and Weitek have won a contract from British Sugar to supply two fully automatic belt fed nett weighers, designed for high speed weighing of sugar beet shreds and nuts and one fully automatic Tubular FFS bagging machine which produces a filled bag from a reel.
The order is split into 2 sections.
British Sugar have taken delivery of the weighing system, whilst the bagging station has gone to their sub-contract packer, Rees Contract Management.
Aetna says that the customer selected this particular system for two specific reasons: 1) Weitek was the only supplier capable of demonstrating and providing the high speed flexible FFS bagging Machine.
British Sugar was able to visit an existing customer, who allowed Aetna to carry out a trial with the British Sugar product.
2) Aetna were able to overcome the extremely tight timescale by installing a demonstration machine, at no extra charge, whilst the new machine was constructed.
