Heat shrinkable labels applied at 300/min

An Aetna UK product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Feb 10, 2004

Latest heat shrinkable sleeve label applicator applies labels in excess of 300 containers per minute and is ideal for a wide range of container shapes and sizes.

Aetna UK, which represents Axon Corporation in the UK, has added the EZ-Seal 300SL is the latest addition to Axon's EZ-Seal line of heat shrinkable sleeve label applicators.

This new machine is the latest addition to Axon's line of heat shrinkable sleeve label applicators and is capable of applying labels in excess of 300 containers per minute.

Aetna says that the increasing demand for full body shrink labels prompted the design and introduction of the EZ-Seal 300SL.

It provides high production rates at minimal cost for most full body sleeve applications and can run film as thin as 35 microns, which significantly reduces bottle costs and makes it ideal for a wide range of container shapes and sizes.

Features include an all-mechanical design with minimal moving parts, which ensures smooth operation.

There is also a patented cutting assembly, which provides high productivity and long blade life, whilst the touch screen operator interface offers ease of operation and system control.

With its small footprint, the EZ-Seal 300SL fits easily into any production line and the system, which includes the applicator and heat tunnel, will integrate with existing conveyors.

Aetna UK expect there to be great demand for this new system.

'In 2002 we identified the emerging trend in the UK for using shaped containers and this has not diminished.

We are continuing to see significant growth in both stretch and shrink sleeving." Commented Aetna's managing director Mark Tucker." Shrink sleeves provide a high quality decorating method that cannot be matched by other technologies and the EZ-Seal 300SL sets new standards for value, simplicity, reliability and ease of operation.".
